Well, where to start?

Left to right:  Megan (aged 10), Macassar (aged 2), Murdock (aged 9), Morgan (aged 6), Moneypenny & Marmalade (aged 13 months) -  (3 generations)

Our affix is ‘Lignum’, derived from the Latin Lignum Vitae, meaning ‘tree or wood of life’. The Lignum Vitae tree is a hardwood, often being black and tan in colour and is extremely durable.

Having both grown up with a menagerie of animals, including horses, dogs, cats, alpacas and various feathered friends, in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside, life will never be complete without a dog or two (or six) in our household ;)

So, when we lost our beautiful Rotti, aged 13, nearly 11 years ago now, our first Gordon Setter puppy joined us, Megan, such a sweet girl, very much loved by all who meet her and she is still going strong today. Not too many months after this puppy Murdock (now Sh Ch Laurelhach Just Jitterbug JW) joined our family too and let’s just say there was no going back...

'Mummy Morgan' or ‘Tink’ to her friends (Ordett Mai Tai By Lignum) joined our family in 2010. She is Murdock's daughter and what an absolutely stunning girl she is. She has given us two fabulous litters, from which we kept 3 girls (1 from her first litter and 2 from her second litter).

Lignum Miss Fabbri JW, aka ‘Macassar’ is a Morgan daughter and what a girl she is, so very happy, willing to learn and keen to be adored by all. She’s been successful in the show ring, gaining her stud book number and Junior Warrant, as did her litter brother ‘Lignum Master Marlin at Keaswood’. She was also awarded an RCC from Junior class. All that being said, Macassar is at her happiest when out in the fields or on the moors. She loves to hunt and we are progressing this side of her training for the future.

Lignum Whirlwind JW ‘Marmalade’ and Sh Ch Lignum Tornado JW ‘Moneypenny’, are litter sisters and boy have these girls done us proud in the show ring! Both girls attaining their Junior Warrants and therefore stud book numbers; Marmalade at just 11 months old and Moneypenny at just under 14 months old. Marmalade winning 3 Best Puppy in Breed awards at Championship Shows, going Best Puppy in Show at both the Gordon Setter Association Championship Show and Open Show and many more Best Puppy awards at Open shows with puppy group places to boot and Moneypenny gaining several ‘Best Opposite Sex’ awards in lovely company, whilst still a Junior. The girls have swapped 1st and 2nd placings at many shows throughout 2016. Moneypenny is a keen huntress and we’re looking forward to progressing this side of her training alongside Macassar.

We consider the health and welfare of our dogs of utmost importance and they all live inside our home as part of our family, sharing every aspect of our lives. We are lucky enough to have been successful in the show ring with our girls and boy and have made some wonderful friends through our dogs.

We are members of the Gordon Setter Association, The British Gordon Setter Club and The Gordon Setter Club of Scotland.
